Toxic Aftermarket Domains… Should you be forced to check a $10 domain’s record?

NOT-LISTENINGOver the past couple of days or so I’ve noticed a growing storm-in-a-teacup with regards to the potentially negative consequences of buying an aftermarket domain. With much clamor and verve a growing number of people is bewailing its collective lot and branding Google’s decision to retain penalties for expired domain names as grossly unfair. What I cannot help but wonder about here, is the sudden heat with which this subject is being debated, given the fact that it’s hardly SEO Headline News.

It’s totally UnBingable!

A couple of days back I caught an article on the BBC website, informing me that the Swedish government had decided to remove the word UnGoogleable (OGooglebar) from its list of new Swedish words, because of a challenge from Google’s legal team concerning its definition, which was listed as “cannot be found on the Internet with any search engine”. This definition evidently irritated Google’s Legal Eagles to such a degree that they deemed it necessary to defend their Trademark with much gusto and gumpth from Sweden’s linguistic watchdog.
